These lightweight venting filters are constructed
from a single standardized set of materials (polypropylene and PTFE). Ideal for
both small laboratory scale and large process size vessels. Filters allow only
sterile, microfiltered air to replace the liquid drawn off for use. Pressure
within a sealed vessel is equalized with external atmospheric pressure, and
reaction gases are safely vented off without contaminating either the
environment or the tank contents. Filters are autoclavable, biosafe, and have a
hydrophobic 0.2µm PTFE membrane.
These biosafe vented filter capsules are useful for
venting, in-line filtration, and isolation. Durable PTFE membrane in a
polypropylene housing. No glue, adhesives, metal, epoxy, or other extraneous
materials are used in construction. Broad chemical resistance. All seals are
fused. Autoclavable.

These aqueous solution filter devices are
ideal for filtration of tissue culture media, growth media, and buffer
solutions. They have a biosafe hydrophilic nylon membrane and provide excellent
flow rates. Glass microfiber prefilter extends the life of the membrane and
allows filtration of larger volumes of solution. Capsule devices are available
with a variety of connections and in two sizes for increased solution volume.
Radiation sterilized to ensure no ethylene oxide residue contamination.

Whatman Polycap TC Filters, Whatman Filters
These sterile, pyrogen-free filters are constructed
with two layers of polyethersulfone (PES) microporous membrane that is
inherently hydrophilic, low in extractables and protein binding, and biosafe.
The two layers of membrane have retentions of 0.1µm for microplasma,
0.2µm for bacteria removal, 0.45µm for most general applications,
and 1µm for difficult and viscous solutions. The filters feature a vent
to evacuate any air for the fastest filtration, radiation sterilization to
ensure no ETO residue contamination, and positive pressure filtration to
eliminate protein denaturation.

Whatman SELECTRON AS Multiple Vacuum Filtration Apparatus,
Whatman Filters
Ideal for microbiology quality control, residue
analysis, and serial filtration. Multiple vacuum filtration units are available
with 3- or 6-place manifolds and are fitted with glass or stainless steel
funnels. Manifolds have a common drainage outlet with a separate stopcock on
each funnel. Apparatus can be autoclaved and sterilized by dry heat up to
180°C.
These serum prefilters are useful when filtering serum
and other hard-to-filter solutions to prevent rapid clogging of microporous
final filters. These filters contain four layers of special filter media,
including fine and ultrafine glass microfiber and a layer of polysulfone.
Filters have stepped hose barb connectors and a final particle retention of
1.0µm.
Each of these filtering devices consists of a 50mm size
disc for filtering up to 5L of media. The AS (aqueous solution) devices are
nonpyrogenic and have a high throughput asymmetric (anisotropic)
polyethersulfone membrane, which has low binding and no surfactants. The
housings are made of durable polypropylene and come with a sterility cap for
easy handling. Stepped hose barb connection. The AS with Bell device
(28137-870) provides a high flow rate and up to 50% greater throughput. The
filling bell also reduces the risk of contamination during filtration. The SPF
device (28137-868) is designed with a unique serial filter stack specifically
for serum prefiltration. It contains four layers of special filter media,
including fine and ultrafine glass microfiber and a layer of polysulfone. The
life of the membrane in all devices is extended with glass microfiber
prefilters, which also allow filtration of larger volumes of solution.
